The 4mm depth hits a useful sweet spot for road-to-trail running – providing enough bite for gravel, dirt, towpaths and light trails without feeling excessively aggressive when you return to tarmac.

A durable 3D screen-printed toe cap adds extra protection at the front of the shoe when the terrain becomes rougher.

HOKA has also updated the fit of the Challenger 8 with a new last designed to provide improved room through the forefoot and instep.

A lightweight 100% rPET engineered mesh upper provides breathability and comfort, while the plush collar creates a secure feel around the ankle.
