Meet Coach Bill

Bill has been running for over 43 years as a very good standard club runner on the roads, track, cross-country, fells and mountains. It has been 43 years of learning.

Over the past few years Bill has been leading and coaching runners both individually and in groups several times each week, from Couch to 5km to experienced athletes.

Throughout a lot of the time he raced, Bill worked 24/7 shifts and knows exactly how to fit running into busy and sometimes unconventional lives. He admits to having some natural ability but made the most of that by constantly adapting to what was best for his lifestyle.

There are no set plans but bespoke training to suit the individual and their lifestyle and to manage their training at a pace to suit them.

With a love of all sports from a young age and a desire to know what makes people achieve their sporting goals both physically and mentally, Bill brings so much more than a generic training plan.

He understands that a coach / runner relationship should be a learning opportunity for both and he is keen to make sure that the basics of running, running style and efficiency are achieved. This will be done
via a direct meeting or watching runners on video.

Bill is keen to teach and explain the why and how we run and for the runner to understand that there is so much more to running than the times you run. You will learn from a coach who has experienced the full ups and downs of running and the many tips that most coaching manuals don’t teach.

Whether new to running or an experienced runner,  Bill understands that a hearing a different voice is what many need to achieve your goals and he will be there to share your running journey to assist in unlocking your potential.
